Commercial Project Estimator in Columbia

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Commercial Project Estimator! Gpac, a 30+ year-old recruitment company, is partnered with a well-established company in the Mechanical industry. This is your chance to join a team that values both exceptional service and a friendly working environment.

The ideal candidate will Estimate time, labor, construction materials, and product costs to determine the overall cost for construction/excavation projects. Prepare written proposals, cost estimates, budgets, and updates for the client and the project managers. Bid on large and small scale projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Reviewing data to determine material and labor requirements and preparing itemized lists.
• Computing cost factors and preparing estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness.
• Conducting special studies to increase cost-effectiveness of projects.
• Consulting with clients, vendors, and Department Managers to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Cooperating with the Service and Departments on projects as assigned by the Installation Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 15-20 years estimating experience in Commercial HVAC.
• Proficiency with estimating software.
• Strong mathematical and computer skills, with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
• Expertise in mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Ability to breakdown construction operations into logical sequences.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work flexible hours when necessary.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to recognize discrepancies.
